Tasveer South Asian Film Festival (TSAFF) is the largest South Asian film festival in the United States. Seeking to provide a counterpoint to the stereotypical images and stories prevalent in mainstream media, the festival strives to create an atmosphere of thoughtful dialogue and creative inquiry, where filmmakers and audiences engage in lively discussions, forums, and other collaborative interactive formats, all while watching some of the year’s best independent films coming out of South Asian and the diaspora.

TSAFF brings to Seattle the year’s best independent films, as well as both established and emerging South Asian filmmakers from around the globe. Films presented include shorts, experimental work, documentaries, and narratives features on themes related to South Asia and the diaspora. TSAFF screens thought-provoking films on issues of social, economical, and/or political justice. We define South Asia as the region that includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tibet and these countries’ diasporas across the world.
